Trilingual preamble with a point

S ome people describe calligraphy as letters made with pens, ink and suchlike. A wider definition can well be justified. People who care about letterforms should enjoy them in any medium.

In 2008, the International Exhibition Company, MVK, mounted a magnificent exhibition and conference in Saint Petersburg. I used the opportunity to give my opinion in some detail.

Here’s one demonstration piece, designed on a computer and originally printed in large format on fabric. The text is in Russian, French and English, set out in cyrillic, roman and italic.
